HabitRPG

A great site that helps people get into the habit of doing things, no matter what that habit is, can be very helpful.  Some of my Nano buddies told me about HabitRPG.  It is really cool, I have thoroughly enjoyed it.  I am only on level 8 and I have been a member of it for a month.  It is a great way to train you in habits.
Instead of just a list you try to complete and check off through out the day, you also play a game at the same time.  You probably have heard of the term RPG.  It means Role Play Game.  Where you can pick your character and name and what you are and so on.  In this site you are you and you go on quests and as you do your dailies, which you will mark off, and get in the habits of checking things off because you have done them, you go up in level and gain animals, and clothes and stuff.
The quests you go on aren't something where you have steer your person in certain directions.  They are like villains that you have to conquer by completing all of your daily's.  If you do all your dailies, you attach the villain with damage.  If you do not complete your dailies, he can fight back.
It's pretty simple and it's  a fun way to help keep you going.
I have enjoy a lot.  You can find me on there under the name: Destiny Hampton and here is the link for it.  https://habitrpg.com/static/front

Hey, I just learned about a couple good places to research editors and publishers, to make sure they are legit.  When you are out there looking for your agents and more you want to be careful not get scammed.

It's not a lot, and I know there are more out there, but these are some of the newest I have heard of.

I wanted to share a site that I really enjoy.  It's something that I was introduced to from my local Nano group (National Novel Writing Month).  We started going through them as lessons, starting in the archives.  Brandon Sanderson, who is a published author and a professor who teaches creative writing classes.  He posts the videos of his class for the rest of the world to watch and learn from.   the site is called Write About Dragons.  www.writeaboutdragons.com.  It has a ton of information you could use.  He goes through the books on how to write them, and also explains the publishing aspect of things.  He is very knowledgeable and guides the students.  He is also a lot of fun.

GoodBye NewAgeofIdaho, hello WriterDestinyHampton

So lately I have been really involved in writing books. I love crafts of all sorts and this has  been a big deal for me.  I have always enjoyed writing but until last September, I never had a place to go as a writing outlet.  Well my friend came to me and told me of a writing group in our library.  I started to go and I have learned so much.  I have enjoyed being critiqued and it has been a blessing on my work.  It has changed drastically since last September.

I also go to participate last year in NaNo WriMo.  Its every November, we are able to write 50,000 words in a month.  It averages out to be around 1,600+ words a day or ruffly five pages.  It helps writers get there book out onto the pages and to not stop and edit everything.  I was able to accomplish this.  I had a blast doing it and I have joined the Nano Wrimo group in Idaho Falls.

There is a chance that I will be becoming the ML for the group soon because both of our ML's have retired.  They are still going to our groups, they just don't want to be in charge anymore.  They are handing the reins over to someone else.

So far, I have been the only interested in becoming the ML but I have two other women who have offered to Co-ML is with me.  I'm thinking we should Tri-ML. LOL.  That there will be even less things for everyone to keep track of.

I was able to finish my first book ever.  I have many others in the works, but I have only finished one.  I am hopeing, that if I can get the editing done on it by the end of the summer, I can send it to my beta readers and hopefully get it sent out to publishers, sometime this year.

Because of my recent found enjoyment, that I have been spending more time on, I am going to change the name of this blog and items that are on it.  I may still have a page that is centered on only crafts, but this blog will for the most part be centered about writing.

On the note of my crafts.  I have done quite a few things since last year, but I haven't posted it on here.  I figure I should post I on here before I change the blog and I will put them on a page for my crafts to be on.  Because when I still can, I draw, crochet, or something else.

So this is a goodbye to the NewAgeofIdahoArtsandCrafts blog.  I hope you will continue to follow me and hope to get posting about my writing adventures soon.
