Making hollow but intact eggs the easy way.

Ok, so i wanted to make some hollow eggs and i already had an easy way to do it.  So i figured i would let you guys know what it is so you can make hollow eggs for decoration without ruining a bunch of eggs.

First if you can find something with a needle end like this one, this will be the best to work with.

Then decide the best spot on the top and bottom and hold it firm in one hand but not curshing tight.  With the other hand put the tip on the spot you want the hole and apply controlled pressure so that you make a hole, not crack the entire egg.

bring it al the way down to the corner so you pop the membrane and allow air.

After i do a small spot hole on the top i work on the bottom and make it slightly bigger so that all the egg will come out without ruining the egg.  I also like to put more of the needle end in and move it around to help make the insides more like scrambled egg.  It comes out better.

This is about what your bottom hole will look like.  The top one will be much more smaller.

The white part of the egg usually comes out first.

When you get enough out that you can feel there is an air pocket, or the egg is lighter,  cover both holes with your fingers and shake to make the yoke also like scrambled egg.  I had an egg one time that i didnt shake the inside and the entire bottom of my egg cracked and the yoke came out whole.

After you have shaken  the egg, blow out the yellow stuff.

Obviously from this picture there are more than one egg insides on the plate but this gives you an idea of what youll get in the end.  If you can keep your shells out of the insides when your blowing out the egg, you can use it.

Now you have a hollow egg.  I liek to wash mine off and allow some water to pour in the inside from the bigger hole.  Then i shake it and blow it out one more time.  It makes it so there isnt a stench afterwords.

I made this egg around 3 years ago.  It turned out really well.  I plan on using some of the ones i made for this tutorial and i am going to use them to make a small hanging chandelier of eggs for an easter decoration.
